For 10 days in March, 14 current and former OSU student-athletes teamed up to make a difference in the lives of one family. Traveling to Central America, these Beavers took on another kind of challenge: they built a house of concrete blocks from start to finish and gave a needy family of eight a place to call home.

There is no win so sweet, no championship as important, as the sense of accomplishment they achieved together in those 10 short days. The friendships they forged with each other, and the family the house is for, will last a lifetime.

Beavers without Borders has created an inspirational documentary of the work and the emotional journey of these athletes. The documentary comes out in Summer 2011 and will be part of fundraisers in Portland and Corvallis (Oregon) as they raise the money needed to continue to make a difference for people in need in around the world.

Let’s hope the documentary will be available on DVD for those of us unable to attend, who would still like to see the full documentary, as well as help out financially.
