It’s been many years since Disney enthralled audiences with the delightful Little Mermaid. Now they’re getting set to do it again, this time larger than life in the new Little Mermaid attraction coming to Disney’s California Adventure Park.

Go behind the scenes as the Disney Imagineers show us the work that went into bringing Ursula the sea witch to life. This seven foot tall animatronic figure is bigger and more ambitious than any character they’ve done before. Simply amazing.

The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure opens June 3, 2011.

  1. ZooKeeper says:

They’ve come a long way. I can remember going to Disneyland as a teenager, back before Disneyworld existed, and seeing Abraham Lincoln. It was pretty lifelike, but rudimentary compared to what they do now.

Watching this video makes me want to go back. I wonder if admission is for both parks, in California, or if you have to pay for each separately… Guess I should go look. :)

  2. That’s amazing they can do that – I sure wouldn’t want to meet her in a dark alley though!
