Otters are fascinating creatures. I could spend an entire day at the zoo just watching their antics: the way they interact with each other, other animals, and with people.

This video shows a little boy, maybe 4 or 5, who has attracted the attention of the otters as he runs back and forth. It’s hard to tell who is more fascinated with the other, the boy or the otter.

The two otters–Mzee and his son, Khalil–are African Spotted-Necked Otters and they live in the San Diego Zoo in a mixed species exhibit, the Lost Forest.
